The 2nd Lung Cancer Health Equity Summit is themed “Black and Latino populations navigating lung cancer – stepping stones to equity.” We often discuss the challenges these communities face, but rarely do we bring together stakeholders to present solutions that have been implemented that decrease disparities, decrease inequities, and/or improve outcomes.
This event has been organized by a diverse group of stakeholders, which includes patients, caregivers, community-based organizations, health equity experts, public health leaders, nurses, and STEM leaders from across the country. All members are well-versed in health equity, patient advocacy, and community engagement.
The target audience for this event is patients, caregivers, survivors, patient advocates, community groups, students, fellows, researchers, policy experts, government, pharma, diagnostics, nurses, AI, hospital systems, physicians, surgeons, oncologists, insurers, and payors. This robust agenda that touches on the entire care continuum will alternate panel discussions with presentations. There will also be roundtables and breakout sessions that will lead to action items that become webinars in the next year. Scholars and nonprofits will be able to present posters for the broader community. There will be time for breaks and networking to allow individuals to form their own partnerships.
