My name is Juanita Segura, and I am from Northwest Indiana. I have been living with lung cancer for 10 years, a journey that has profoundly shaped my life. I’ve been married to my wonderful husband, Steve, for 33 years, and together we’ve raised five incredible children and are proud grandparents to three beautiful grandchildren. Thanks to advancements in lung cancer research, I’ve been blessed to meet my grandchildren, celebrate more birthdays and anniversaries, and witness countless family milestones I once feared I’d miss. As a passionate lung cancer advocate, I focus on raising awareness about the importance of biomarker testing, ending the stigma surrounding lung cancer, and providing education and support within communities of color. My journey with lung cancer has given me the opportunity to inspire and bring hope to others in the lung cancer community, and I will continue this advocacy work for as long as I can.
