SCHEQ will be attending the 2024 NMA Annual Convention in New York. This year’s theme is – “The Quest for Healthcare Transformation”. The NMA was founded in 1895 and is the oldest association of Black doctors in the country. The NMA arose out of the Jim Crow era laws when many of the African American doctors were not allowed to join the American Medical Association (AMA) or enter into many of the hotels in cities where AMA annual meetings were held. It has become a place for Black doctors and heatlh professionals and focuses on issues that impact minority health and outcomes.
