Industry Support Services

SCHEQ was created with the goal of addressing structural and systemic issues that hinder the success of low income, minoritized, and marginalized groups in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medical fields. We also want to ensure that patients have information and resources to help them navigate their cancer journy.

Book time on My calendar:

STEMM

We help develop, assess, refine, improve, and implement STEMM programs. This covers content, curriculum, strategy, impact, and metrics.

HEALTH EQUITY

We do assessment, evaluation, strategy, and implementation of programs. Our goal is to help ensure that the invisible, marginalized, rural, or diverse populations are thought about in all stages.

MENTORSHIP

We assist with the development of mentorship and training programs focusing on high school through post-terminal degree. We help with strategy, audience, content, metrics, outcomes, diversity, and sustainability.

CLINICAL TRIALS

We help develop, implement, and sustain strategies that assist with increasing clinical trial diversity. We do not run clinical trials, but we help you identify blind spots through assessing diversity and demographics, increasing patient engagement, and building community trust and trustworthiness.

SCIENTIFIC

We help with experimental design and troubleshooting, science writing, resumes/CVs, editing, career coaching, and leadership to name a few.

SPEAKING

We present to diverse audiences via interviews, webinars, inspirational speaking, workshops, and keynote speaking to name a few.

Mission

To increase STEMM workforce diversity and improve outcomes for underrepresented, underserved, and marginalized populations across the cancer care continuum.

Vision

To have a trained workforce that reflects the populations experiencing the greatest disparities, and to increase cancer awareness and survivorship for all.

Our Values

Diversity:

As the world is becoming more diverse, we are steadfast in our belief that we have to recognize, appreciate, and respect the lived experiences and backgrounds of our employees, trainees, patients, and others without judgement.

Equity:

We ensure that everyone, especially those disadvantaged, are treated with respect and cultural humility. Interventions must help those with the least access to care.

Collaboration:

No one person or group can solve all of these issues alone. The key to making lasting change is through partnering, highlighting, amplifying, supporting, and working with others so that we can collectively make a difference.

Empowerment:

Enabling and encouraging those we engage to accomplish any personal, academic, professional or health care goal. This also includes advocating for your needs.

Transparency:

We are clear about what we do, our impact,  and our governance. We strive to help those most marginalized and excluded communities that we serve.

Determination and Action:

We do the things that we set out to do and drive to ensure that we keep our focus on those that are most excluded.
